| ADTB Archives | "Purple Haze: Joint Planning in the Canadian Forces from Mobile Command to J-Staff, 1975-1991 Part 1" The Army Doctrine and Training Bulletin Vol. 5 No. 4 Abstract: "Purple Haze" was written as a projected third part of how joint planning developed in the Canadian Forces. The first two articles, "Global Mobile" and "Global Mobile II" which appeared in the Army Doctrine and Training Journal, took the story from 1964 to 1973. "Purple Haze" handled the period from the mid-1970s to 1990, right before the creation of the Joint Staff or "J-Staff" in late 1990. "Purple Haze" depicts the steep learning curve the Canadian Forces had to overcome to achieve a joint planning capability. |
