J.A. Dextraze aka “JADEX” was a legendary Canadian general. This chapter from Warrior Chiefs highlights a little-known but dramatic and unauthorized rescue operation in the Congo in 1964. These missions were conducted by a rag-tag improvised multinational force (which included the CIA) led by JADEX in the face of UN indifference and bureaucracy.
