This two-parter was written in response to yet another Fort Frontenac mess altercation over why the Canadian Army ceased to exist in 1964 and became “Mobile Command” during the turbulent and controversial period known as ‘Unification’ implemented by the Pearson Government in the 1960s. The pieces tackle the mythology of the policy decisions and force structure rationales generated at the time.
