Abstract: Canada's deployment of the Coyote reconnaissance and surveillance vehicle and the LAV-III Kodiak infantry fighting vehicle pre-saged American interest in the Stryker. How, exactly, did Canada develop its light armour capacity? This article takes to story back to the 1950s and the Canadian Army's attempt to field the Bobcat MICV vehicle series and how that lead to increased interest in light armour in the 1960s and 1970s which formed the basis for the LAV-25 in the United States and similar vehicles in Canada. |
